Week 5-2

From the teachers’ point of view, using games in the classroom can mostly engage students. It is easier to convey knowledge through images and videos in the game. This way provides students with a lot of fun.


From the learners’ point of view, using games in the classroom can help increasing the interests of learners. The vivid games can stimulate the learning desire of learners as compared to boring text. The challenges set by the games can also prompt the desire of learners to improve.

Sorry for the late post. I thought we only need to post it on the blackboard initially. In the article “Theories and Practices of Multimodal Education: The Instructional Dynamics of Picture Boks and Primary Classrooms”, the author illustrates how multimodal is important in classroom education. It can offer students with multiple elements, such as color, visual, video, sound, etc. It also evaluates the practices that are possible in classroom. This article is really important and refreshing for me. It allows me to understand how I can apply the concept of multimodality in my future teaching. It also tells me how such practices can be effective and attractive for students.
